Panel Builder System Integrator

Earlier this month (December 2-3, 220) OnRobot held a virtual expo with a direct focus on providing valuable keynote discussions on current trends and topics as well as an interactive virtual showroom for products and solutions.

The European Union-funded SIMS project and the related field tests of Epiroc's battery-powered mining machines turned the eyes of the entire mining world to Kittilä. Now, the mine’s first own battery-powered rigs, two Boltec E Battery bolting units, have started in production.

In partnership, Epiroc and Combitech have developed a solution for traffic management of autonomous loaders for mines. The utilization of a driverless fleet of machines in a risky work environment has meant achievement of a new level of efficiency and safety.

When considering compliance with lockout/tagout regulation, many people think that locking out the hazardous energy sources is all that it takes. In reality, there is much more to it than just creating a safe work environment during servicing. There are five components of a proper energy control program that will help your organization remain OSHA-compliant and maintain employee safety.

Conversations about automation technology and design often focus on one thing – the technology itself. We think of the high-tech robots, the automated conveyors, or the precision welding machines that make it possible for factories to operate more efficiently, productively, and safely.

No business can succeed on its own. Relationships are at the core of any business. Whether it’s with customers, employees, suppliers, or even competitors, successful companies build and nurture strong, mutually beneficial relationships.

Since countless trade fair visits are currently canceled, SCHUNK simply comes directly to the customers with its demo units: The SCHUNK Roadshow, which already took place successfully in Austria and Belgium after the summer break, offers a comprehensive insight into the world of gripping systems.

HARTING Applied Technologies GmbH has won the "Toolmaker of the Year 2020" competition, emerging as the overall winner in a top-flight field of participants with more than 200 companies. In addition to the overall victory, the HARTING subsidiary also took the award in the "In-house Toolmaker under 50 employees" category. The company had already won in this category in 2014, 2016 and 2018. The award is presented by the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT and the Machine Tool Laboratory WZL of the RWTH.

The Phoenix Contact #DialogueDays recently ended, and here we want to take a look at the event and how this trade show made its mark. Panel Builder & Systems Integrator had the opportunity to gain some insight about the event from Brad Hammer, national Sales Manager, Industrial Components & Electronics.

The starting gun was sounded five years ago: EPLAN, Rittal and Phoenix Contact founded a technology cooperation for panel building and switchgear manufacturing – “Smart Engineering and Production 4.0”. Its goal was the integrated digitisation of engineering and production processes.

At the time, every robotic gripper had custom-made fingers, so whenever manufacturers wanted to use grippers in their robotics-based assembly lines, they had to go through lots of trial and error regarding custom design and fabrication.
