Panel Builder System Integrator

November 5, 2020

Following the success of the very first Summit, Pepperl+Fuchs’ second online summit will take place from November 17 - 19. This free, fully digital event will offer customers and other interested parties a way to connect with industrial sensor and electrical explosion protection experts and learn about the latest solutions and trends in the fields of factory and process automation. For three exciting and informative days, we will address topics related to user-centered digitalization.

These topics include:

  •    -   Driving the IIoT Revolution – Challenges, Benefits and Simple Next Steps
  •    -   Digitalization in Service and Maintenance – Process Industry in Transition
  •    -   Next Level of Ultrasonic Technology – Intelligent, Functionally Safe and Autonomous

Participants will be able to access related keynotes, live shows, and panel discussions via a browser-based online platform. A digital networking lounge will give participants the opportunity to connect with attendees and experts from Pepperl+Fuchs and its partner companies. Other digital content, such as technical white papers, videos, and presentations, will be available for download. All content will be offered in English and will be presented twice a day so interested parties from around the world can participate. The sessions start each day at 10 a.m. EST and will run for a total of one hour and fifteen minutes.

DAY ONE

Driving the IIoT Revolution – Challenges, Benefits, and Simple Next Steps

This session will showcase a number of exciting practical examples that demonstrate the advantages of combining IT and OT and the potential this can offer. The following questions will be addressed:

  •    -   What are the differences between the various fieldbuses and IIoT protocols?
  •    -   What are the benefits of IO-Link master with MultiLink technology?
  •    -   What can we expect from cost-effective retrofit solutions for Industry 4.0?
  •    -   What will the transition to cloud-based systems without higher-level control systems look like?

DAY TWO

Digitalization in Service and Maintenance – Process Industry in Transition

Where once technicians used a clipboard and a pen, mobile devices are now the tools of choice. Experts from Pepperl+Fuchs and ecom will highlight fascinating solutions from the process industry and will provide insight into the future of smart maintenance. Topics will include:

  •    -   How will remote monitors, smartphones, and tablets revolutionize inspection and servicing?
  •    -   How can we implement remote assistance and predictive maintenance?
  •    -   What are the challenges posed by remote support and what potential benefits can it offer?

DAY THREE

Next Level of Ultrasonic Technology – Intelligent, Functionally Safe and Autonomous

Ultrasonic sensors have rapidly gained popularity in recent years—what was once a niche product has now become a key technology that can be found almost everywhere in the automation sector. Pepperl+Fuchs will provide insight into the latest trends and future developments, including the following topics:

  •    -   What advantages can state-of-the-art ultrasonic sensors offer currently?
  •    -   How can safety applications be resolved using ultrasonic sensors?
  •    -   What exactly is a wireless M+O ultrasonic sensor?

Pipeline Hack Raises Questions and Concerns: How Secure is your OT Network? - JMP Solutions

JMP SolutionsHow secure is your industrial network? Do you have shared passwords? While working on OT related networks, can you access the internet and your email?

If you have been following the news and happen to work in a process or manufacturing facility, you are probably thinking about how secure your environment is, and if it is at risk for critical production halting threats.  Whether your company manufactures cars, packages food products, or provides an essential resource or goods to society, an attack could be crippling to not only your business but the population who may very well rely on the goods that you produce.

UCEC Identifies What Makes Them a Top Notch Control Panel Builder

PBUS-27-UCEC-TopNotchPanelBuilder-400.jpg

UCEC has existed for more than sixty years by building the best control panels, period. To keep their focus on quality custom panels, they have never defined themselves as a “one-stop shop." To be all things to all people with something as complicated as a control panel should send up a red flag. When panels shops try to do everything (a “one-stop shop”), that’s when things get diluted and messy.

There is so much talent and work that goes into a UCEC panel. UCEC knows their industry thoroughly, and they wish to remain highly relevant in the field. No one gets there by being all things to all people. UCEC shares two examples of this philosophy in action.

PARTNERING WITH EXPERTS TO SERVE CLIENTS BETTER

UCEC's talented craftsmen contribute their years of knowledge of panel building to each project. Conversely, most engineering firms who try to build panels quickly learn there is more to them than meets the eye. As UCEC's President and CEO, Mark Inboden said, “Two specialized companies collaborating to solve a customer’s problem often leads to a better result for the end user.”

UCEC finds that the best results happen for their clients when they partner with other experts and this case study demonstrates exactly that.
