Three Ways to Pick Up a Pallet Using a Mobile Robot
Heavy-duy autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) like the Omron HD-1500 are quickly becoming the gold standard for automating pallet transport in warehouses and distribution centers. Capable of moving payloads through dynamic and peopled encironments using onboard mapping software, AMRs provide the ultimate in flexibility and scalability.
When logistics facilities start considering an AMR solution, a common question that arises is how to get the pallets onto the robots. It turns out that there are three methods for doing this, and each has its own advantages relative to the constraints of a particular warehouse infrastructure. Let's take a look at each of these in turn.
What’s Next for IIoT Device Connectivity?
The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) has not only blurred the lines between OT and IT disciplines, but also led to the increasing prevalence of large-scale and highly distributed applications where field devices are dispersed over a wide area and need to communicate directly with remote servers.
This means that where your data is going to and from, how you manage all your different devices, and how you keep your data safe matter even more than before. In this article, we provide three expert tips you should keep in mind for selecting device connectivity solutions that can meet the demanding requirements of large-scale and highly distributed IIoT applications in our connected world.
