R. STAHL is authorized to certify customer-specific systems for installation in hazardous areas. R. STAHL develops and produces complete system solutions for digitalized automation system around the world based on its comprehensive product portfolios, which are certified in accordance with NEC, CEC, ATEX, IECEx, and many other standards. The service portfolio spans from switching components and automation interface technology, signal conditioning and data transmission to visualization, operating technology and camera technology.

The latest Remote I/O system known as IS1+ from R. STAHL currently offers the most state-of-the-art and cost-efficient digitalization platform for bidirectional signal transmission from Class I Division 1 Hazardous Locations packaged completely in a IP66/NEMA4X enclosure. The Remote I/O, which is completely backward compatible, is equipped with pioneering functions for predictive diagnostics, IP communication and redundancy options. It is ideal for migrating existing conventional installations to digital, Ethernet-based environments without complex adaptations. Thanks to a combination of a wide variety of protection types, flexible, secure communication channels up to Class I Division 1 are available for fieldbus networking, FO, Ethernet and Wi-Fi communication.

For Class I Division 2 and Zone 2 applications, R. STAHL’s IS1+ open protocol solutions are designed to ease the burden of supporting multiple protocol’s often encountered by local systems integrators. The IS1+ modular design and unique flexibility enables local partners to respond to ever changing customer requirements as the IS1+ in most cases can be configured in the field for a variety of protocols as well as variety of signal type (digitial or analog, inputs or outputs) applications.

Visualization in the hazardous area is becoming more common now days due to this digitalization era. R. STAHL produces a range of HMI systems for different applications from a simple KVM system to Thin Client and industrial PC’s for the hazardous area installations. Using a combination of explosion protection methods these HMI’s are certified for installation in Class I and Class II Division 1 and 2 applications as well as Zone 1 & 2.

R. STAHL has expert teams from sales and application engineers that support users beyond Ex protection, helping them also to gain additional knowledge on digitalization, and virtualization solutions. In addition, the company also actively participates in designing standards in North American, European and some other major international committees, and contributes its expertise to future projects such as Ethernet-Advanced Physical Layer (Ethernet-APL), NAMUR Open Architecture (NOA) and Open Process Automation Forum (OPAF).

HARTING Toolmaker of the Year 2020HARTING Applied Technologies GmbH has won the "Toolmaker of the Year 2020" competition, emerging as the overall winner in a top-flight field of participants with more than 200 companies. In addition to the overall victory, the HARTING subsidiary also took the award in the "In-house Toolmaker under 50 employees" category.
