The new multifunctional MACX-TR timer relays from Phoenix Contact now make simple time control applications smart. The combination of pushbuttons and innovative LED display allows easy operation directly at the device.

The PTFIX product family from Phoenix Contact has now been extended to include a nominal cross section of 10 mm². The distribution blocks with tool-free Push-in connection are freely configurable and can be used immediately. Simply unpack, connect, and you’re done.

For the very first time, manual deburring processes can be automated with the robot deburring tool CDB from SCHUNK, without having to forgo the proven deburring blades. The adjustable-flexibility deburring tool is suitable for robot-assisted deburring of workpieces made of plastic, aluminum, steel, brass, and other materials in a wide variety of geometries.

At the show, an M-710iC/45M robot used the 3DV/1600 vision sensor to quickly find and snap boxes of varying sizes and shapes in a large bin. The robot picked each package and dropped it into another bin.  Once a bin was emptied, the sensor moved to the full bin and the cycle repeated.

Industrial producers can now improve their network resiliency by using primary and backup adapters for the 1756-EN4TR ControlLogix EtherNet/IP communications module. This new redundant-adapter functionality is provided through a recent firmware update to the communication module.

Festo is meeting the need of the North American automotive sector for a powerful yet flexible valve terminal with IO-Link connectivity on board. Festo’s VTSA IO-Link, now shipping, includes an IO-Link connector for use on the company’s workhorse ISO valve manifold VTSA, and has already become a core product of some automotive customers that want the performance, diagnostics and simplicity of IO-Link on the shop floor.

AMT series encoders from CUI Devices are advanced capacitive encoders with a variety of uses. AMT series encoders are typically mounted to the back of a stepper motor but can be used in many other applications. CUI offers the AMT series encoders with configurable pulses per revolution (PPR). The PPR can be set for most models using the free AMT Viewpoint software (the AMT10-series encoders are configured using DIP switches).

Seifert SoliTherm Thermoelectric Coolers from AutomationDirect use the Peltier Effect for closed-loop cooling. The only moving parts are axial fans so there is virtually no maintenance. The Seifert Peltier thermoelectric cooling units can be mounted in nearly every position (except roof mounting) because they don't have a compressor or any moving parts aside from the fans.

Safety Machine Analytics is used to monitor and analyze safety systems on machines. After quick and easy implementation, the software reads and evaluates all system status data and visualizes it in a dashboard - all in real time. The display of error messages supports the machine operator for quick troubleshooting of system errors.

Inductive sensors are still the first choice for detecting metallic objects. However, conventional inductive proximity sensors have one thing in common: if the distance to the damping element increases, the sensor becomes more sensitive to the detection object, and the metal surrounding the installation affects the switching distance.

One of Canada’s largest wastewater treatment plants at Annacis Island provides secondary treatment to approximately 175 billion litres of wastewater every year for over 1 million residents in 14 municipalities. After almost 20 years in operation, the variable frequency drives supporting the critical pumping systems for the primary treatment and secondary treatment facilities had to be replaced to ensure that the plant’s high operational availability and reliability will not be compromised in serving the plant, the surrounding municipalities and the environment. Metro Vancouver Regional District chose to deploy Rittal’s enclosure and power distribution solutions with E-plan software to efficiently support vital infrastructure improvements by reducing equipment replacement times and thereby minimizing risk to plant operations.
