Beckhoff Automation has announced another addition to the popular family of ultra-compact C60xx series Industrial PCs (IPCs) with the new C6025. This space-saving IPC is designed to deliver the high computing performance of the Intel Core i series in a fanless, small-form-factor device. The new Intel Core i U processors, with exceptionally low power requirements, have made this advancement possible.

Littelfuse, Inc., a global manufacturer of leading technologies in circuit protection, power control, and sensing, announced today the expansion of its SPXI series in-line and SPXV series string solar fuses with 25 to 32 amperage models in a compact 10 mm x 85 mm case size. Used in photovoltaic (PV) installations, these 1500 V DC fuses protect PV systems from overloads and short circuits to minimize damage to solar panels. The compact case size offers design flexibility when space is at a premium.

Specifically designed to move light loads quickly and efficiently, the MagneMover LITE system is an intelligent and affordable solution. This transport system outperforms conventional belt and chain conveyors for OEM/in-machine applications and for demanding motion requirements. Independent motion control of vehicles provides a flexible flow and built in anti-collision feature helps prevent damage to payloads.

The Panduit Pre-Configured Industrial Distribution Frame (IDF) with SmartZone G5 Access Control is engineered to deploy and protect 19-inch rack mount switches on the factory floor in an industrial network. Consistent design, equipment placement, and cable management minimize engineering and installation time resulting in faster implementation.

We create digital services using the most modern and secure Internet technologies. We combine them with the technologies of industrial production facilities. Netilion Analytics provides you with an inventory of your production facility within a few minutes and gives you complete transparency. Based on the inventory, current optimization suggestions for your production plant are calculated for you.

Developing a dynamic digital twin reduces risks and costs associated with your automation investment by enabling you to design, prototype, and test your application before physically commissioning your control system. Operator training can also happen concurrently in a safe environment without disruption to existing production.

One of Canada’s largest wastewater treatment plants at Annacis Island provides secondary treatment to approximately 175 billion litres of wastewater every year for over 1 million residents in 14 municipalities. After almost 20 years in operation, the variable frequency drives supporting the critical pumping systems for the primary treatment and secondary treatment facilities had to be replaced to ensure that the plant’s high operational availability and reliability will not be compromised in serving the plant, the surrounding municipalities and the environment. Metro Vancouver Regional District chose to deploy Rittal’s enclosure and power distribution solutions with E-plan software to efficiently support vital infrastructure improvements by reducing equipment replacement times and thereby minimizing risk to plant operations.

German Technology Day, Hosted by Rittal, Eplan, Wago and Pilz

German Technology DayOn November 19, 2019 The German Technology Day hosted by Rittal, Eplan, Wago and Pilz was held in Mississauga. The event showcased a unique conversion of 4 companies. Something that strongly resembles the collaborative efforts German companies have largely embraced and is often showcased in European shows. Although, it has yet to be fully embraced in North America.

The collaborative event allowed each company to showcase its own solutions, both new and upcoming as well as complement the ways in which the companies support and deliver solutions achieved by working together.

Three strategies for embracing and maintaining manufacturing flexibility

ManufacturingTo keep up with the demands of today’s consumer-driven economy, manufacturers are increasingly adopting flexible production strategies. This can help companies be much more responsive to the whims of the market, but it creates some new challenges in its own right. Such challenges include reduced throughput, extra complexity and high installation costs.

At Omron, we’ve devoted much of our recent efforts to helping manufacturers become and remain flexible.
