Other than saving space, the benefits of an integrated solution include reduction of overall power consumption and reduction of application development time, whilst also allowing customers to standardise to a single controller to fit most of their applications.

 

 

 

The new DPDM Multimount compact cylinder is Festo’s smallest, lightest and most economical choice yet in its class. It’s ideal for many applications compact cylinders perform, such as stopping or stabilizing small work pieces or work platforms in light manufacturing. It’s noticeably smaller than Festo’s widely used DMM compact cylinder and unique for the variety of ways it can be fastened in place directly. It can be mounted at the front or rear, vertically or horizontally, hence the “Multimount” in its name.

 

 

 

Quick-disconnect cables have a 3, 4 or 5-socket M8 female connector on one end and 3, 4 or 5 open leads on the other end to provide fast and easy connection between field devices and terminal connections. A "lock in place" nickel plated brass or zinc coupling nut resists high levels of shock and vibration.

Higher amperage relay output modules and an 8-point input simulator module are now available from AutomationDirect for the CLICK® series stackable micro brick PLCs. The CLICK C0-04TRS-10 ($54.00) is a 4-point, 10A per point, isolated relay output module with four Form A (SPST) relays and 4 isolated commons. Operating voltage range is 6-24 VDC / 6-240 VAC.

 

 

 

Festo designed the new space-saving, flat, DLGF rodless linear drive as a very economical choice for applications where installation space is especially tight, like in electronics, small parts assembly, packaging and handling technology. Since those space considerations can also make a pneumatic drive harder to adjust or service, Festo also made its proprietary self-adjusting end-cushioning (PPS) standard with DLGF. Self-adjusting cushioning saves time and makes processes more reliable; the drive is always providing the correct cushioning.

One of Canada’s largest wastewater treatment plants at Annacis Island provides secondary treatment to approximately 175 billion litres of wastewater every year for over 1 million residents in 14 municipalities. After almost 20 years in operation, the variable frequency drives supporting the critical pumping systems for the primary treatment and secondary treatment facilities had to be replaced to ensure that the plant’s high operational availability and reliability will not be compromised in serving the plant, the surrounding municipalities and the environment.
