ABB

 

ABB has completed the Maritime Link, formally handing over the interconnector to Emera, a leading energy and services company headquartered in eastern Canada. The link made history on December 8, 2017, by conducting the first exchange of electricity between the islands of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. It went into service on January 15, 2018 as ABB continues to work with Emera and the system operators in each province during initial operation.

ABB has announced a strategic realignment of its global transformer manufacturing, engineering and service footprint to enhance competitiveness in a dynamic market environment marked by increasing competition and consolidation in the rail industry. Kontrol Energy Corp. through its operating division Kontrol Technologies Inc., is integrating its real-time energy management system, the Kontrol EMS, with Blockchain technology.

 

 

Nova Scotia Power

 

Nova Scotia Power plans to put the power in our customers’ hands by introducing smart meters for all residents and businesses, providing them with more access to information about how and when they use energy. The company applied to its regulator, the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board, today for approval of the $133 million dollar project which would see the first smart meters rolled out in 2019.
